Nancy's Jumbo Jet

This is a horrible example of our Congress. But true.

I can't believe Pelosi............and most others in Congress either.

They are really getting outrageous.

Nancy's Jumbo Jet

Nancy Pelosi wasn't happy with the small private jet that comes with the House Speaker's job, no, Madame Pelosi was aggravated that this little jet had to stop to refuel, so she ordered a Big Fat 200 seat jet that could get her back to California without stopping!

Many, many legislators walked by and grinned with glee as Joe the Plumber informed everyone what Nancy's Big Fat Jet costs us, the hard working American tax payers, thousands of gallons of fuel every week.

Since she only works 3 days a week, this gas guzzling jet gets fueled and she flies home to California, cost to the taxpayers of about $60,000, one way!

As Joe put it, 'Unfortunately we have to pay to bring her back on Monday night.' Cost to us another $60,000.

Folks, that is $480,000 per month and that is an annual cost to the taxpayers of $5,760,000. No wonder she complains about the cost of this war, it might cramp her style and she is styling, on my back and yours.

I think of the military families in this country doing without, and this woman, who heads up the most do-nothing Congress in the history of this country, keeps fueling that jet while doing nothing.

Madame Pelosi wants you and me to conserve our carbon footprint. She wants us to buy smaller cars and Obama wants us to get a bicycle pump and air up our tires.

And they want to talk about Sarah's rented dresses....

But NOT about the biggest AIRHEAD in Congress! !

Thomas Jefferson said.

Jefferson's quotes should be read in every public
Institution and our schools every morning...!

When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe.

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.

Very Interesting Quote...

In light of the present financial crisis, it's interesting to read what Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:

'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.'

E-Verify employment verification program

E-Verify employment verification program.

Please call your Senators and urge them to support American worker protections in the economic stimulus package.

Senators are currently preparing to offer amendments to the economic stimulus package (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009). Votes on these various amendments are likely to occur on Tuesday night and Wednesday. It is very important that your Senators hear from your as soon as possible!

The House version of the stimulus package had two amendments that protected and enhanced the E-Verify employment verification program. The first amendment, offered by Rep. Ken Calvert (R-CA), would reauthorize E-Verify for 5 years (it is currently set to expire on March 31). The second amendment, offered by Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA), would require all businesses that receive stimulus money to use the E-Verify system to ensure that only Americans and legal residents benefit from the stimulus package. Both of these amendments passed by a voice vote, meaning no Representatives openly opposed the amendments.

The Senate version of the bill does not have these E-Verify provisions. However, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) is trying to have this language added. He will soon be proposing three amendments which go even further than the amendments offered by Reps. Kingston and Calvert. Sen. Sessions' amendments will reauthorize E-Verify for 5 years, preclude stimulus funds from going to entities that don't use E-Verify, and authorize ample funding for the Social Security Administration to fully implement E-Verify.

Please call your Senators and urge them to support Sen. Sessions' amendments to American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. It is important that the economic stimulus package have these E-Verify provisions so that American workers have a fair chance of receiving stimulus-funded jobs.

P.S. We can triple our membership quickly if our members email their friends about us and they in turn email theirs. Polls show that most Americans agree with NumbersUSA's positions but, despite our recent rapid growth, most American voters still have never heard of us. You can help change that by forwarding this email widely. (Note: depending on your email provider, you may need to send this as an "attachment.")

Man Of Steele

Man Of Steele

By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Monday, February 02, 2009 4:20 PM PT

Politics: The Republicans chose as the face of their party a sharp and principled spokesman who vows to engage the Democrats in all 50 states. The death of the Republican Party has been greatly exaggerated.

After two successive clock-cleaning elections, the Republicans needed to say goodbye to RNC Chairman Mike Duncan, a man so invisible on the national scene, it was said even the party's national committeemen could not recognize him on sight.

Michael Steele, who succeeded Duncan in a six-ballot contest, is a quite visible sign of change in the Republicans that the demoralized party faithful can believe in.

Steele, an African-American, is a rising star in a party regularly accused of racial insensitivity, if not outright racism.

With Govs. Sarah Palin of Alaska and Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, he adds to the Grand Old Party's diversified look.

In remarks in front of the RNC, Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky noted that the GOP has largely become a regional and therefore minority party.

Indeed, national Republicans have tended to ignore both coasts and are seen in states such as California less often than sightings of Bigfoot.

Steele intends to change all that and take Republicans off the endangered species list.

In his speech accepting the job, he pledged: "To our friends in the Northeast, get ready baby, because it's time to turn it on. We're going to do what we always do well, which is win. We're going to win in the Northeast, and we're going to keep winning in the South. We're going to win with a new storm in the Midwest. In the West, we're gonna lock it down and win there, too."

Steele knows how to win elections. In 2003, Steele, in one of the bluest of blue states, became the first black and first Republican lieutenant governor in Maryland history.

Steele might very well have become a U.S. senator in the same year as Barack Obama did had it not been for the public's unhappiness over a pre-surge Iraq War and a GOP Congress that was spending itself out of power.

Steele, a Catholic who once trained for the priesthood, was inspired by Ronald Reagan's failed 1976 presidential bid to join the Republican Party.

In a speech at the 2004 Republican National Convention, he demonstrated that he has charisma, warmth and a keen grasp of public policy.

In his talk, Steele noted the progress made toward achieving Martin Luther King's dream of a color-blind society, adding that "we have come even further since a majority of Republicans in the United States Senate fought off the segregationist Democrats to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964."

After that, he stayed visible as chairman of the political action committee GOPAC and as a Fox News contributor and occasional substitute co-host on "Hannity & Colmes."

The party Steele takes over was philosophically rudderless in 2008.

He intends to change the RNC from little more than a political fundraising organ to a loud voice for the loyal opposition.

He criticizes party leaders who have "behaved like Democrats" and calls for a return to the pro-family, fiscal conservative message that was the bedrock of the Reagan Revolution.

"For so long we've allowed the Democrats to define us," Steele said. "We've allowed the media to define us."

Not anymore. Game on.

Rush Limbaugh Wants Obama to ‘Fail’

THIS ARTICLE REQUIRES FULL ATTENTION AS IT ILLUSTRATES THE WAY THE LIBERAL
MEDIA MANIPULATES WORDAGE TO CHANGE THE MEANING OF ANY QUOTE.

Rush Limbaugh Wants Obama to ‘Fail’ for Racial Reasons, ABC's Diane Sawyer Suggests
Monday, February 02, 2009
By Susan Jones, Senior Editor

ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer (Photo from ABC News Web site)(CNSNews.com) – More than two weeks ago, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh told his radio listeners he hoped President Obama would fail in his attempt to advance liberal, socialist policies.

Since then, liberals -- including the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and now ABC News -- have taken Limbaugh’s words out of context to suggest that Limbaugh was attacking the president personally.

On Monday morning, ABC’s “Good Morning America” gave Limbaugh’s “I hope he fails” comment a racial slant by editing it in a deliberately misleading way.

In an interview with Sen. John McCain on Monday, anchor Diane Sawyer described Limbaugh’s “I hope he fails” comment as “another big issue in the news.”

She then tossed to a sound bite comprised of two separate comments made five days apart, which ABC joined together. The edited comment made it sound like Limbaugh wants Obama to fail because he’s black.

Here’s the ABC version of Limbaugh’s comment:

Limbaugh: “I don’t need 400 words. I need four. I hope he fails.”
[Edit]
“We are being told that we have to hope he succeeds, because his father was black, because this is the first black president, we’ve got to accept this.”

“Good Morning America” took the first sentence from Limbaugh’s Jan. 16 radio program. The second sentence comes from Limbaugh’s January 21 appearance on Sean Hannity’s TV show. In the interview with Hannity, Limbaugh stressed that Obama’s race doesn’t matter to him, but his policies do.

Sawyer prods McCain

“So he says he hopes the Obama presidency fails,” Sawyer said at the end of the carefully edited sound bite on Monday. “What do you say to Rush Limbaugh?” she asked McCain, apparently hoping to prompt an internal Republican feud.

McCain, however, would not be drawn. He said he hopes that “all of us as Americans can succeed in getting a package that will get this economy going…”

In response to Sawyer’s second question about Rush Limbaugh (“Were you offended by what he said?”) McCain said only that he “respects” Limbaugh’s opinion on the “issues of the day.”

As CNSNews.com has reported, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee last week ran an audio clip on its Web site that misrepresented what Limbaugh meant when he said on his Friday, Jan. 16 radio program that he wanted President Obama "to fail." The audio clip, as played by the DCCC, omitted a key sentence.

Here’s what Limbaugh actually said on his Jan. 16 radio program:

If I wanted Obama to succeed, I'd be happy the Republicans have laid down. And I would be encouraging Republicans to lay down and support him. Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the U.S. government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, "Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails.

Moment later, Limbaugh on that same Jan. 16 radio program, Limbaugh told his listeners that Obama’s “ideas and policies are what count for me, not his skin color, not his past, not whatever ties he doesn't have to being down with the struggle, all of that's irrelevant to me.”

‘Get Through’ to Democrats on Stimulus Package

Republican Leader Hopes Obama Can ‘Get Through’ to Democrats on Stimulus Package

Monday, February 02, 2009
By Susan Jones, Senior Editor

(CNSNews.com) – Bipartisanship means including Republican ideas in the economic stimulus package, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said on Monday.

The Senate Republican leader said President Obama needs to get that message across to the Democratic leadership when they meet with Obama at the White House Monday night.

“I hope he can get through to them that the way to build this package is indeed to do it on a bipartisan basis, which doesn’t mean just talking to us, but including ideas that we think would work. And also we need to make sure that we’re not borrowing money to spend on projects that are not going to stimulate the economy,” McConnell said at a press conference.

McConnell said the president needs to “put the Democratic leaders of the House and Senate in line. He needs to talk with them. He needs to let them know that the measures that they are moving forward don’t meet his own standard.”

The Obama administration has said that the stimulus package must be “timely, temporary and targeted.”

Obama, meanwhile, repeated his call for swift passage of a stimulus package on Monday. He said lawmakers shouldn't allow "very modest differences" to block quick action on stimulating the economy.

McConnell said Republicans want to “fix the main problem first,” and he said that would be housing. “That will be a part of whatever we offer on the floor,” he said.

McConnell also said it’s important to “put money back in people’s hands directly” through lower tax rates for people who are currently in the 15- and 10-percent income tax brackets.

McConnell said most Republicans know the economy needs to be jump started, but they also know it can be done for less than what is currently being proposed. “Most of my members believe that we can pass a very robust stimulus for less than the amount currently before us,” he said.

McConnell noted that one of his colleagues recently tried to put a trillion dollars in context: “If you started spending the day that Jesus was born, and you spent a million dollars every single day, you still wouldn’t have spent a trillion dollars,” McConnell said. “It’s a lot of money.”

Republicans, outnumbered by Democrats in the Senate, won’t win passage of every amendment they propose, McConnell acknowledged. “But I can tell you this, with regard to this measure that’s on the floor this week, there is considerable…Democratic senatorial unrest about this package.

“I think there is a bipartisan feeling that this is not the way to get the economy moving, and hopefully we’ll see that exhibited on various amendments where we may have some bipartisan success in modifying the bill and making it more in line with what I think the president was talking about…”

HR 45, Blair Holt Licensing and Record Act

This came to us from a young friend of ours who is a parole officer.
I am assuming it is valid.

HR 45, Blair Holt Licensing and Record Act

This is provided as information that should alarm most of you. The air has not yet stilled from the peaceful change of power in this country and already the anti-gun forces have marshaled to license and fingerprint you into a National Database of gun owners. Note that there is no National Database of Convicted Felons and those who have lost their citizen's rights to gun ownership, but there will be one that seeks to make you either a dupe or a felon if this law is passed. I request and suggest that you contact your elected representatives to voice your opposition to this bill to abridge your rights. Note that the original author of this bill is Rahm Emanuel.
****
**** THE IMPORTANT PART OF THIS IS 'A DATABASE OF GUN OPNERS' HONEST CITIZENS NOT
**** WHILE THERE IS 'NO DATABASE ON CONVICTED FELONS INCLUDING THE FORMER
**** MEMBERS OF CONGRESS;;; D ANDERSON
****
Are you ready for this?

Are you ready for the House Bill titled 'HR 45, Blair Holt Licensing and Record Act of 2009'. It will make it illegal to own a firearm unless it is registered with the database in Washington D.C. As a gun owner you will have to be finger printed, you will be required to provide your DL#, SS#, you must maintain a valid address at all times, submit to mental and physical health records being put on file, you will also be required to file any address changes and any ownership changes even if a private sale. Each update will cost $25 and if you fail to comply you will lose your right to own firearms. This bill and its language mirror almost completely one defeated last year in the House of Representatives by soon to be Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Will we the citizenry be as lucky this time?

Pass this on to everyone who believes in strict Constitutionalism and remember that laws only apply to those who obey them. Criminals by definition and nature do not abide by laws. New laws and restrictions only apply to the law abiding citizen and are not written with the criminal in mind. With guns, it is not about having laws on the books to prosecute individuals, it is about taking guns away from the people so that no one has them in the first place. One last item to note, when assuming power and creating a facist state, Hitler was a proponent of strong gun laws because a disarmed populace was much easier to control than an armed one. The kings of old also outlawed weapons of any kind in any region that they conquered to quell the ability of the citizens to uprise against them.

The Founding Fathers of this nation understood all of the above and because of this they included the second amendment in the constitution. In fact, they knew that at some point in every society's life span that the need for the population to arise came about. To this end they made the right to keep and bear arms against a tyrannical state an absolute right that could not be revoked. They did this because the first thing tyrants and despots do is to remove a population's right to defend themselves. When this is done, the tyrants have no problem with the destruction of society as we know it.

Protect your Second Amendment! Forward this to all gun owners! Join the NRA and actively support it!

The following is a summary of the bill as provided by the Congressional Research Service. If you read the whole bill, you'll find it will effectively preclude the ownership of ANY firearms by law-abiding people unless licensed by the Attorney General. How long do you think THAT would take??

Why Grandpa Carries a Gun

Subject: Why Grandpa Carries a Gun

My old grandpa said to me, "Son, there comes a time in every man's life when

he stops bustin' knuckles and starts bustin' caps and usually it's when he

becomes too old to take an ass whoopin'."

I don't carry a gun to kill people.

I carry a gun to keep from being killed.

I don't carry a gun to scare people.

I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.

I don't carry a gun because I'm paranoid.

I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world.

I don't carry a gun because I'm evil.

I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world

I don't carry a gun because I hate the government.

I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.

I don't carry a gun because I'm angry.

I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself

for failing to be prepared.

I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone.

I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a

sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.

I don't carry a gun because I'm a cowboy.

I carry a gun because, when I die and go to heaven, I want to be a cowbow

I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man.

I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones
they love.

I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate.

I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs,

I am inadequate.

I don't carry a gun because I love it.

I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to
me.

Police Protection is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect themselves.

Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime

after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.
Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take an

Obama’s Bill Hands ACORN $5.2 Billion Bailout

Obama’s Bill Hands ACORN $5.2 Billion Bailout

Tuesday, January 27, 2009 7:06 PM

By: David A. Patten Article Font Size

A rising chorus of GOP leaders are protesting that the blockbuster Democratic stimulus package would provide up to a whopping $5.2 billion for ACORN, the left-leaning nonprofit group under federal investigation for massive voter fraud.

Most of the money is secreted away under an item in the now $836 billion package titled “Neighborhood Stabilization Programs.”

Ordinarily, neighborhood stabilization funds are distributed to local governments. But revised language in the stimulus bill would make the funds available directly to non-profit entities such as ACORN, the low-income housing organization whose pro-Democrat voter-registration activities have been blasted by Republicans. ACORN is cited by some for tipping the scales in the Democrats' favor in November.

According to Fox news, Sen. David Vitter, R-La., could appear to be a “payoff” for community groups’ partisan political activities in the last election cycle.

“It is of great concern to me,” Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., tells Newsmax. “I think our government has stayed strong because we’ve had a two-party system, we have had robust debate, people have felt that it was one man-one vote. They are privileged and grateful that they have that ability to cast that vote. And when something is done to belittle or diminish that, it is of great concern to me.”

Regarding ACORN, Blackburn added, “Additional funds going to these organizations that have tried to skew that system, it causes me great concern and I believe that it causes many of my colleagues great concern.”

The three-term congressman stopped short of suggesting the “neighborhood stabilization” money is a power grab by Democrats seeking partisan political advantage. But radio talk giant Rush Limbaugh did not.

Limbaugh warned his listeners Tuesday: “I’ll tell you what’s going on here: We, ladies & gentlemen, we’re funding Obama and the Democrats’ army on the street. We are funding the forces of the Democrat party’s re-election.”

Blackburn echoed the concerns of Republican leaders who object that the bloated package lacks the short-term stimulus a cut in payroll or sales taxes would provide.

According to Matthew Vadum of the Capitol Research Center, the stimulus package now under consideration includes:

$1 billion stashed away in Community Development Block Grant money that ACORN often vies for successfully.

$10 million to develop or refurbish low-income housing, a specialty of ACORN’s.

$4.19 billion to stave off foreclosures via the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Vadum states the current version of the bill would allow nonprofits to compete with cities and states for $3.44 billion of the money. Some $750 million, however, would be exclusively reserved for nonprofits such as ACORN, which is actually an umbrella organization for over 100 progressive organizations.

Regarding the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, Vadum writes in American Spectator: “Although ACORN operatives usually get their hands on such funds only after they have first passed through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development or state and local governments, the new spending bill largely eliminates these dawdling middle men, making it easier to get Uncle Sam's largess directly into the hands of the same people who run ACORN's various vote fraud and extortion rackets. And the legislative package provides these funds without the usual prohibition on using government money for lobbying or political activities.”

The charges of partisan political payback appear to be resonating in part due to Obama’s longstanding association with partisan get-out-the-vote operations. He was endorsed by ACORN, and during the campaign paid an ACORN affiliate $832,600 to get-out-the-vote assistance. Early in his career, he led a voter drive for an ACORN-affiliated group called Project Vote.

It’s not the first time ACORN has been entangled in a bailout controversy. In September, House Republicans objected that the original $700 billion bailout package included $100 million for ACORN – a tiny fraction of the sums for ACORN now being considered in the stimulus package.
