During a recent trip to Costa Rica, Vice President Joe Biden said, "It's difficult to tell a constituency while unemployment is rising, they're losing their jobs and their homes, that what we should do is in fact legalize (illegal immigrants) and stop all deportation." It's good to see that someone in the Obama administration realizes that a recession is the wrong time to amnesty 12-18 million illegal aliens (including 7.7 million illegal workers).

The March unemployment news is shocking -- just like it has been every month for the last year. The official unemployment rate jumped from 8.1% to 8.5%! There are now 13.2 million Americans looking for a job who can't find even a part-time job. Yet, many of the nation's richest foundations, most prestigious newspapers and top elected officials continue to call for an increase in foreign workers.


Claim that H-1B Workers Create American Jobs is Statistically Flawed

There was a column in the Wall Street Journal today by "Numbers Guy," Carl Bialik, concerning the claim by NFAP/Stuart Anderson that each H-1B worker creates five new jobs, oft-repeated by the industry lobbyists. It's amazing that an assertion as obviously flawed as this one, with textbook statistical errors, has gotten so much attention. But then that's why the lobbyists are paid the big bucks.
